Park
Hagalil
Most of the
time, we
take our daily walks right here in our own kibbutz (as you've seen before!).
Occasionally, we venture just a bit further—like to the special-needs
community
of Kishorit, just down
the road. But this time, we
went a little farther afield and headed to the nearest city, Karmiel,
to
explore its largest municipal park: Park Hagalil
(which translates to Galilee Park).
It’s a
beautifully
designed space, full of surprises and thoughtful touches. Scattered
throughout
are public art pieces and environmental sculptures, a charming old
amphitheater, a large pond with waterfalls, and plenty of local flora
and fauna
(well if you count local housecats 😉). There are
also several memorials and
sculptures that pay tribute to people and historical events connected
to the
city.
The park has
something
for everyone—playgrounds for kids, wide lawns perfect for picnics,
lookout
points with sweeping views of the surrounding hills, and a network of
paved
paths that wind gently through the woods.
We came home
with
plenty of photos—scroll down to take a look!
