Larry and Mindy לארי ומינדי

We recently paid a visit to the First Aliyah Museum in Zichron Yaacov.* We highly recommend going to this wonderful site!

At this museum you can see the amazing photos of early Israel and hear the stories of the first Olim, who courageously left their places of birth and came to build our country, despite the very grim conditions of the time.

It is truly awe-inspiring to see how those brave first pioneers managed to transform the mud and swampland into the beautiful country we have today, in spite of the terrible odds and disease, as well as their calculated revival and modernization of Hebrew as our daily language. We even spotted a rare photo of Larry’s great great grandfather… or did we? 😉

Dressing up from the large selection of clothing and accessories and taking photos in the end is plain fun! Take the kids or the grandkids and just go!

* In this website, they have a link to the official website in Hebrew – it doesn’t work. Here is the correct link.

Larry's Great Great Great Granddad

(They told us not to smile, because in those days, people didn't smile at the camera!
It was kind of hard holding in the laughter !)

The museum as it looks today - compare it with the photo at the top of this page.
