Restaurants
So
for this
year’s birthday bash, we visited not just one – but two! – vegan health
restaurants.
The
first one is
located in the beautiful Neve Tzedek quarter of Tel
Aviv among the
alleyways that are lined with lovely boutiques and eateries. It is
called Meshek
Barzilay.
We
started with
an assorted platter of roasted organic vegetables alongside a cream
made of
lima beans, and continued with two main courses: spicy pumpkin steak,
root
vegetables purée, served with a dal of black lentils and a hazelnut
curry, and a
Dosa Pancake made of red rice and red lentils, served with roasted
cauliflower skewers,
alongside coconut chutney and bok choy.
For
our desserts
after the visit to the Palmach Museum, we headed to one of our very
favorite
restaurants - Anastasia
in the heart of the city on
Frishman Street. There we feasted on two yummy desserts – cookies made
of nuts
and dried fruit, sandwiching vanilla ice cream composed of coconut and
cashew
cream, with a hazelnut butter dipping sauce, as well as a chocolate
pistachio dessert
made of a pistachio crust, pistachio mousse, and coconut chocolate
cream.
In
both of
these vegan restaurants, gluten-free dishes are also clearly marked on
the
menus. Our kind of places!
Hmmm…
already
thinking about where to go next year ?.
